Lima is exactly the place we have been searching for on every trip we have ever taken, we just didn’t know it. Lima is a huge and sprawling city of almost 9 million, but Miraflores is a classy, high-end district of less than 100,000. As soon as we set foot in Miraflores we recognized it as a winner; it has everything we love. Miraflores is as classy as any city in Europe with shopping, restaurants, museums, casinos, hotels and tens of thousands of tourists, but it also has lovely weather, a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean, beaches, water sports, parks with outstanding landscapes and, unlike other parts of Lima, it is relatively safe day and night. We found a charming little place to stay, Hostal el Patio, highly recommended by the Lonely Planet Guide. Lima Lima Lima, we love you!

And once again another Wow! By now the 28+ hr journey has had time to wear off & we are sure your"City Legs" are under you once again. Until now I never really thought of South America as one of the destinations we really wanted to see. Sure have changed that opinion! Argentina, Ecuador and now Peru - you have such a way with words and your pictures bring it to life. So glad you have been able to experience so much. I can't believe how the time has gone by so quickly either - before you know it you will be headed back across the ocean again! Looking forward to more about Miraflores. Sure can use that added warmth from way down there. The 2 of you look marvelous Darlinks!

I still have company & we are down to one bathroom. It is like Carlos
Castle with five to six people instead of three!
John & his brother & cousin have torn up one bathroom and are redoing it. It will be gorgeous the next time you stop by.
Hope all goes well with the rest of the SA trip and that the cruise back to Europe is as good as the outbound one.
We will be all home soon & will wonder how the time has flown by so quickly.
